visual studio 2013 - Can not uninstall VS2013 CE -


i had vs2013 community edition installed on hard disk. unfortunately hard disk died sudden death days ago.

now cannot uninstall / reinstall vs2013 community edition, because cancels process saying missing several packages.

also command vs_community.exe /uninstall /force fails same report.

is there way can "manually" remove files or registry entries setup thinks there no vs2013 installed?

ok, managed solve problem.

partially followed guide: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/248697

used process monitor, launching vs_community.exe filtering vs, visual studio, 12.0, etc.

also total commander, searching files , directories containing mentioned strings , deleting them.

additionally removed tons of registry entries using regedit , searching strings.

hope didn't break important in process. :d

then launching vs_community.exe /uninstall /force 1 last time. time went through without aborting.

and got desired screen ... phew!
