magento - PHP shopping cart -


the current site supporting going become ecommerce. , naturally need shopping cart support it. there sophistication in sense need support multiple currencies, multiple languages, delivery methods, subscription models et al.

however not market place, not care multiple vendors or multiple store fronts.

since site in php, looked @ few x-cart, opencart, magisto community edition , prestoshop. dilemma have current site management very particular design, , of these shopping cart implementations seem tough me customize level want.

the alternative write custom cart, waste of time & effort since reinventing wheel (which has been reinvented gazillion times).

i want leverage open source community has give. feel middle path there package available class/module/backend - without front end ui can start using , building how want.

how php community approach problem. solution implementation perspective, better build 1 scratch?

i not sure if exists, though. appreciate can point me online resources me in quest.

if cannot find resources build need create scratch best solution project specification.

but best advice how other cart systems built , expand , implement functionality, said don't reinvent wheel.
