iis - Publishing to Azure Virtual Machine with Web Deploy -


i trying set web deploy on windows server 2008 r2, have installed web deploy , web management service.

i know i'm connecting server because see following in log.

2015-06-19 12:13:59 100.72.108.11 head /msdeploy.axd site=iamafish 8172 - 86.1.148.102 - 404 7 0 93

however, i'm receiving standard error checking web deploy running.

i suspect permissions issue , i'm trying find 'iis manager permssions' in iis manager, after selecting site. it's not there. how add feature iis manager can manage permissions?

it turns out version of web deploy installed web platform installer not include full suite of tools , should not used this.

instead, download web deploy from:

http://www.iis.net/download/webdeploy

be sure restart iis manager see new icons.
